MDI- UPV 2017

01. Overview

As part of the Master in Design and Illustration, this was the final project for the audiovisual narrative course, using After Effects. The goal was to make things easier for the new students to get to the university by sharing the most used mobile apps to get there according to different transportation methods, all in a video.

03. Objectives

1. Use After Effects as the primary tool.
2. Create an animated intro for both UPV and MDI.
3. Develop illustrations for the video.
4. Apply the animation principles learned in class.
5. Ensure the video is between 1 and 1:30 minutes long.
6. Add music and synchronize it with the video.

Intro (UPV-MDI logos), scene 01: 6 apps to get to UPV, scene 02: metro, scene 03: bus, scene 04: taxi, scene 05: parkings UPV, scene 06: valenbisi, scene 07: maps, closing (signature and credits).

05. Design

The next step, following the completion of the script with corresponding copy and scenes, was to develop the storyboard. The video’s concept focused on a minimalistic style, featuring interactions between a mobile phone and the vehicles from each app. The illustrations employed a flat design to streamline the animations and enhance visual simplicity.

  • A 1:20-minute video was created to guide new students to the UPV campus.
  • Minimalist flat design illustrations were used to explain transportation options.
